Here's me walking the trail around Canmore (just a little further west from Calgary than Three Sisters). Canmore is surrounded by these nice, well-kept trails. On one side is the Bow River and on the other is literally peoples' back yards filled with wildflowers and local fauna. Very beautiful. The only point of contention was the mosquitos. As big as horses, they were. Carl quipped, "While we were enjoying nature, nature was enjoying us."
