Ah, here's the view that greeted us when we rounded the corner of the Big Pile. This is Lake Moraine. Yes, the lake is actually that color, even more pronounced than the color at Emerald Lake or Lake Louise. Apparently, the color comes from minerals found in the glacial waters that feed the lake. We found out while we were there that Lake Moraine is not technically a moraine, but the name stuck regardless.
